My expectations were high given the combination of the music and dance of Michael Jackson with the creativity, innovative and awe inspiring acrobatic and performance of Cirque du Soleil, so there was always a risk of disappointment.
There were moments of loveliness, and when compared to a night in front of the tv watching the latest reality show or repeat, I’d take it, but overall disappoint it did. All up, if you fancy a MJ tribute evening then go for it, but if you want to see Cirque at their best, go see something else! This may be why the only way we only knew this was on was from the O2 news rather than from the Cirque emails I get. The night was not helped by the O2(?) decision to position the lighting rig just so it blocked the top of the numerous moving video screens displaying the intricate collage of clips (the moving stage and dislocating screens were actually quite impressive).
I realise its been a while since we posted our new, so will try to catch up in the next week or so. Next post ‘our weekend in Bray’ (if you haven’t heard of this little village, try google to see if it wets your taste buds!)
